Hazelnut

Hazelnut is an sweet nutritious eatable kernel from the “birch” or Betulaceae family of trees. Hazel tree begins producing fruits about three years after plantation. Hazelnut is a small deciduous tree originated in southern Europe and Turkey which is now being cultivated in many countries of the world including USA as the biggest one.  Hazelnut is a fruit with a spherical or elliptical shape. Its length reaches to 15-25 mm and its diameter is about10-15 mm with an outer shell. In the confectionery industry Hazelnut is used to make chocolate, truffle chocolates, biscuits, sweets and cakes. Hazelnut oil obtained from hazelnut is also very pleasant and used in cooking, medicine and aromatherapy. Hazelnut is eaten on its own, roasted, salted, or sweetened. Hazel is used to make hazelnut butter, which is popular alternative for peanut allergy sufferers. It is also less salty in taste. It contains, however, more fat content than soy or peanut butter.

Farshim Brown Hazelnut

Hazelnut kernel with a third skin called brown hazelnut. In general, the ideal condition for growing hazelnut is in mountainous weather with humidity above the average level. In producing and exporting all kinds of hazelnuts in the Middle East, Turkey and Iran have the best-quality hazelnuts, among which India and Afghanistan are the only major buyers of this product from Iran.

Brown hazelnuts (with a third skin) are usually less ordered by the main customers who intend to keep the product for at least 6 months, and often these customers are more interested in hazelnuts with a hard skin (fresh). Farshim White Hazelnut

The skinless hazelnut (white) brain is one of the products used in the manufacturing industry, butter and lubrication. It is also widely used in the confectionery and chocolate industries. This product is just like the hazelnut brain product (with brown skin), with the difference that the final stripping process is done. White hazelnut is sold at a higher price rather than a brown hazelnut because of the process of peeling (third skin). The advantage of this hazelnut is that it can be directly used in the industry.
