More than 34 countries in the world are producing dates. Iran with producing one million tons of dates in a year is the second largest producer of dates in the world after Egypt. Palm trees require a warm and dry climate for breeding dates. In Iran dates palms grown mainly in South, South East, and South West of the country.
IRAN Dates
Iran Dates is used in different forms in food industry as syrup, palm sauce, compote, and jam. Also it is used in the alcohol industry, citric acid and yeast production. That’s why the market for this product is even expanding in industrial use. The main difference in the dates type is the type of sugar and the amount of water or moisture contained therein. The total amount of sugar in different varieties of dates varies, but the difference is not high and is only a few percent. Sugars available in a variety of dates are fructose and glucose as well as sucrose. Soft dates are less sucrose than dried dates, but have more water. In general, the amount of energy of soft dates is less than dry and semi-dry dates. The high quality of Iranian dates has led to attracting many fans around the world. Many countries in the world import Iranian dates due to its excellent taste and quality. Dates are a kind of dried fruit with different taste and texture. Dates are a good source of Iron, Potassium, Minerals and antioxidants. Iran dates are very diverse. There are about 400 varieties known in Iran, but only few of them are commercially important. Farshim Kabkab Dates 
Kabkab dates are growing in Dashtestan city of Bushehr province and Fars region in Iran. Kabkab date is nectarous and soft with wide range of use in food industries and bakeries. It is also used in industrial usage.

Color, appearance & taste: The color of this variety is black and brown in pitted or un pitted with soft sweet taste and velvety texture.
Moisture: Under 18%.
Harvest time: October.

Farshim Sayer Dates (Pitted and Un-pitted) 
The Sayer Dates is the most exported Iranian date. It is growing in Khuzestan province in Iran. It is unique in the world due to its sugar percentage and nutritious value. The Sayer date is semi dryness which promotes perceivable of the date. High level of sugar, redundant juice, easily separations of core date. This date is used as pitted or un pitted for direct consumption and/or for industrial purposes.

Farshim Piarom Dates 
The Piarom date is one of the best and richest dates in the world which only grows in Iran. This semi dried grows in Hormozgan region. The piarom date has a kind of sugar, which is acceptable for diabetic people. The quality of this date is very better than other countries such as that of American Medjool.

Farshim Zahedi Dates 
One of the most economical and most reliable export quotes of Iran is Zahedi date (Ghasab date). Due to the special color, special taste and very simple storage conditions it has many fans around the world. It has high sugar content and is useful to produce alcohol and vinegar. Zahedi date is very easy to transport and maintain. Due to its high price and its rich properties, Zahedi is very well consumed, especially by diabetics.
Dimensions: Short & round about 3.5 cm.
Color and appearance: Yellow color to light brown, short, oval, thick, elongated and at the end it is quite narrow and sharp, less sweet and so delicious
Moisture: Uunder %14 means less than other kinds of Date fruits ( Dried or semi-dried)
Harvest time: September until early fall.
