Kiwi Fruit

 

The kiwi is a small flightless bird originated in New Zealand. In 1960 the name Kiwifruit chose for the Chinese gooseberry. It seems that the Kiwifruit name is because of its similarity to kiwi bird. Kiwi fruit is a small fruit with 4 inches long and 5 ounces weight. It has a brown hairy skin with a bright green body includes a white core and tiny black seeds. Kiwi fruit has an energizing taste which is mixed of sweet and sour, suggestive of melons, strawberries and bananas, also it has its own singular sweet taste. Kiwi fruit is a delicious tasty winter fruit. It is excellent source of nutrients and rich of vitamins A, B, C, E, K. Its amount of vitamin C is more than orange fruit , also its black seeds are rich of vitamin D. Kiwi fruit is rich of minerals Magnesium, potassium, copper, iron and phosphorus so it helps to reduce some diseases such as cancer and heart diseases. Kiwi fruit also is a low calorie fruit. There are different kinds of kiwifruits as Abbott, Allison, Bruno, Gracie, Monty and Hayward. Hayward green kiwifruit is the most common variety in the world. Hayward kiwifruit is identified by it is large oval fruit with a shape like an egg. This variety is superior in flavor and stores better than and other variety presently available.

Iran Kiwi

Kiwi was introduced in Iran in the early 1980 s, but was not produced in a large commercial scale until the 1990. The Caspian region with its excellent climate is the ideal location and is very well suited the plantation of fruit. Iranian Kiwi fruits grows mostly in northern Iran, main production areas are Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan. Iran currently has the first kiwi harvest per unit area and this success owes proper planning and training classes and information updates in the planting, growing and harvest fields for Kiwi fruit growers. Early production of Kiwi fruit, abundant products of third year after Kiwi fruit planting, the balance of costs, reasonable price and etc. all these factors have caused to greater encouraged Iranian growers to grow and production this product.
